Commercial Division Judicial Officers Strategize On How to Improve Performance
The Honourable Judges of the Commercial Court during the meeting
On Thursday September 28, 2023, the Head of the Commercial Division, Hon. Justice Stephen Mubiru, chaired the Division's Judicial Officers meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to check the judicial officers' performance, hear from them in regard to the challenges faced, find solutions and plan for the Financial Year 2024/2025.
During the meeting, Hon. Justice Mubiru formally welcomed Hon. Lady Justice Patience Rubangumya Tumusiime, who was recently deployed to the Division.
He emphasized the need for such meetings, noting that "these meetings are important because they help us to improve on our coordination in the Division."
The meeting resolved that the Mediation function be revamped with Hon. Justice Thomas Ocaya, Lady Justices; Hon. Lady Justice Harriet Magala and Hon. Lady Justice Patience Rubagumya handling all Mediation files at the Court. They also resolved to weed out files that have since lost position.
The Deputy Registrar HW Catherine Agwero was tasked to follow up on the development of the Client Charter and also organize the court users meeting.
In attendance; the Deputy Head of the Division; Hon. Lady Justice Anna Mugenyi Hon.Lady Justice Kakooza Sabiiti, Hon. Justice Ocaya, Lady Justices; Hon. Lady Justice Patricia Kahiigi, Hon. Lady Justice Harriet Grace Magala and Hon. Lady Justice Susan Abinyo who attended the meeting online via Zoom.
